New management for GensonGroup


Genson Group is specialized in the propagation and cultivation of soft fruit plants and the production of strawberries, raspberries and leeks. The acreage of Genson is over 500 hectares, of which about 40 hectares are under glass. The plants find their way to the professional grower at home and abroad. Besides supplier of soft fruit plants delivers Genson year-round strawberries both from outdoor cultivation and from the greenhouse. Furthermore, the group grows raspberries from May to October and the year-round leek in the field. Genson has been a partner of Bakker Barendrecht/Albert Heijn for over 30 years.

Genson Group has grown considerably in recent years. Investments included a new packaging shed and the construction of new tray fields. At the end of February, an ultramodern greenhouse will be delivered for the propagation and cultivation of plants. In addition, preparations are being made for a new complex with 2-person studios for seasonal workers.

Also the organisation of the Genson Group has grown considerably. In order to meet the challenges in the sector and achieve further growth, the owners of the various companies within the Genson Group appointed a new board of directors. Managing Director is Peter van Gennip, one of the owners and 'founder' of Genson Group. Ronald de Meester has been operational director plants for over a year. In addition, Frans de Vogel took up the position of operational director of production on 1 January 2020. Ronald and Frans both have extensive experience in the sector. Leon Liebregts has been appointed financial director. He earned his spurs in various financial management and board positions in the business world and has been working for eighteen months at Genson. Genson has also appointed a manager and cultivation specialist at each location. The organization stands! Genson will face the future with confidence.
