Packaging Department Team Leader – Someren
Are you a natural organizer with technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for cultivation and production? We are looking for a Packing Department Team Leader for our greenhouse facility in Someren. In this role, you will work alongside the operations manager to oversee daily operations in the greenhouses and lead a large, dynamic packing department.
You combine a big-picture perspective with a hands-on approach, technical expertise with people skills, and planning with quality.
What will you do?
- Assist the manager with the day-to-day management of the greenhouse facility in Someren.
- Ultimately responsible for the packing line at this location.
- Managing approximately 50 permanent employees and, during peak periods, about 130 seasonal employees.
- Full control of the packaging machines:
- Set up and adjust
- troubleshooting
- ensure optimal and efficient operation
- Developing the packing schedule in consultation with the manager and based on customer schedules.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Inventory management of packaging materials and supplies.
- Responsible for certifications, audits, and quality guidelines within the packaging department.
- Coordinate with the site manager regarding planning, progress, and crop quality.
What do you bring?
- At least a high school diploma, obtained through formal education or through knowledge and experience.
- Experience in the agricultural sector or greenhouse horticulture is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in a production environment or process engineering.
- Technically skilled and solution-oriented.
- Experience managing larger teams.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English; a third language is a plus.
- You have strong organizational skills, can handle stress well, and have a practical mindset.
- Hold a driver's license.
