Expertise at every stage of cultivation

At Genson Fruits, it’s all about high-quality, flavorful strawberries, all year round. We grow our strawberries year-round in our modern greenhouses and, during the season, outdoors in tunnels as well. Outdoors, the plants benefit from natural conditions, while in the greenhouses we can precisely control the climate. This ensures that we can always deliver fresh strawberries with the quality and flavor our customers expect from us.

Our raspberries are grown in season, with a strong focus on a meticulous cultivation process and strong, uniform fruit. By combining craftsmanship, modern techniques, and a sustainable approach, we ensure a reliable supply of high-quality soft fruit tailored to our customers’ needs.

Partners in Quality

For over 45 years, we have been the proud preferred supplier to Albert Heijn, and we have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Bakker Barendrecht. These enduring relationships are built on trust, consistency, and the delivery of consistently high-quality fruit.

In addition to these strong supply chain partnerships, quality is always at the heart of everything we do at Genson Fruits. Our processes are certified to international standards such as GlobalG.A.P. and FSSC 22000, and are continuously monitored and improved. This allows us to guarantee food safety, reliability, and a product our customers can count on.

Together we grow

At Genson Fruits, it’s all about the people who work on our strawberries every day with care and expertise. From cultivation and crop care to harvesting and quality control, our employees are dedicated to getting the best out of every plant and every season. Their knowledge, experience, and dedication form the foundation of the quality we deliver.

We work in close-knit teams where collaboration and accountability are key. Everyone contributes to a meticulous and efficient process, with an eye for detail and respect for the product. This is how our people make a difference at every stage of the supply chain, from the orchard to fresh fruit.

From plant to strawberry

From the moment the plant first sprouts until our strawberries reach the customer: quality is at the heart of every step of the process. By working closely together within our teams and carefully managing the process, we ensure strong plants, healthy cultivation, and flavorful fruit of consistent quality.

From Growth to Bloom

During the growing phase, we actively strive to achieve an optimal balance between growth, plant health, and production. By continuously monitoring and making adjustments, we ensure that our plants develop under the best possible conditions. We do this by utilizing modern cultivation techniques and practical expertise, allowing us to get the most out of every growing cycle.

Crop protection also plays an important role in this. We handle it with care and responsibility, focusing on plant resilience and sustainability. By working specifically to cultivate strong and vigorous plants, we lay the foundation for healthy crops and, ultimately, fruit of consistently top quality.

Natural power

Bees and bumblebees play an indispensable role in our cultivation. They pollinate the flowers naturally and effectively, which is essential for good fruit set and the development of strong, uniform fruit. Moreover, there are few alternatives in strawberry cultivation, making this form of pollination a natural part of our process.

That is why we structure our farming practices to allow bees and bumblebees to thrive. By consciously harnessing these natural processes, we contribute to healthy crops and consistently high-quality fruit.

Harvested with care

Harvest time is when everything comes together. Our strawberries and raspberries are hand-picked at the peak of ripeness, ensuring that flavor, texture, and shelf life are perfectly balanced. This requires care, experience, and a keen eye for quality.

Our employees carefully select only the best fruit. This meticulous process ensures optimal freshness and guarantees that only products of consistently high quality reach our customers.

Freshness carefully packaged

After harvesting, our strawberries and raspberries are processed and packaged right on site. We do this quickly, carefully, and under strict hygienic conditions to ensure that their quality and freshness are preserved to the highest degree.

By handling the packaging in-house, we maintain control over the process and keep the supply chain as short as possible. This ensures that the fruit reaches supermarkets and consumers in top condition.
